Estia Myrtle Bank Aged Care: Fit-for-Purpose Furniture for a New Wing
As part of the expansion of an existing aged care community in Myrtle Bank, just minutes from Adelaide’s CBD, FHG delivered 152 custom furniture pieces for the new dining, lounge and outdoor spaces.
With just eight weeks from manufacture to delivery, the project was carefully managed to ensure the new wing was ready for opening day.
Working closely with the Estia Developments Team and a Sydney-based interior designer, we coordinated the project across multiple states to deliver a cohesive furniture package that balanced durability, comfort and a warm, residential aesthetic for residents, visitors and staff.

The Moodboard
Soft, earthy and effortlessly inviting, this palette creates spaces that feel calm, welcoming and distinctly residential. Gentle dusty rose tones are paired with warm timber finishes and layered textures to bring depth, warmth and comfort to communal living areas. Botanical-inspired fabrics introduce subtle character and a connection to nature, while understated patterns and tactile materials add visual interest without overwhelming the space. The result is a timeless interior that feels relaxed, sophisticated and thoughtfully designed to help residents feel at home.
Collaboration Across States
This was a fully remote, multi-state collaboration between the Estia Developments Team, a Sydney-based interior designer, and Sydney-based client stakeholders, with delivery and installation preparation completed in South Australia.
Clear communication and structured project management were essential to ensure design intent was maintained while meeting the tight program requirements.
Furniture Scope
The project included a considered mix of aged care furniture solutions:
- Dining furniture designed for durability and daily use
- Lounge furniture focused on comfort and resident wellbeing
- Outdoor furniture selected for longevity and low maintenance performance
- Bedroom armchairs for the comfort and wellbeing of residents and guests
Each piece was specified to support practical aged care operations while maintaining a warm, residential aesthetic for residents and visitors.
Fabric Feature: Majorie Winter
A key design feature throughout the project was the use of Majorie Winter from The Magic Garden collection.
This textile captures Kingdom Home’s distinctive approach to design—where expressive, botanical artwork meets refined composition. Bold floral motifs are layered across curated colour bases, creating depth, movement and visual interest.
Designed for upholstery, drapery, roller blinds and soft furnishings, the fabric brought cohesion and character to key interior spaces while remaining highly suitable for aged care environments.
Outcome
This project demonstrates the effectiveness of early collaboration, clear specification, and agile delivery. Despite a condensed 8-week program, the result was a cohesive furniture package that supports both operational performance and a welcoming residential environment within a modern aged care setting.
